Mark Sr.
Mark started Madison Avenue Salon in June 1980 in Madison. July 2012, he opened a second location Madison Avenue East in Old Saybrook. Mark was a National Educator with IT&LY Hairfashion NA for many years, so his color knowledge is still up to the minute with close to the color co. Madison Avenue is a family fun business with Mark Jr and Michele, his children, activitily managing both salons. For over 40 years, Madison Avenue Salons has brought the family atmosphere and service to all their guests. Constantly continuing to educate and advance their staff.
Mark Jr.
The Owners and Staff here at Madison Avenue Salons hope that this message finds you well. We would like to thank you first and foremost for your love, prayers, and support. Those 3 elements are what has kept this family strong through this very turbulent and heartbreaking time in our lives. We would also like to thank you for standing with us while we do our very best to accommodate for changes in our daily schedules. It is of the utmost importance to us that we continue to serve our family and friends as we have done since our Salon opened its doors 44 years ago. As our Salon welcomes third generation stylist and family member Mikayla Brotz. Preparations to transition ownership to Mark Jr. & Michele were being made. Although our hearts are heavy and our thoughts are with Mark Jr. his wife and beautiful girls. Our goal is to seamlessly continue to provide you with the highest level of care. However, losing Mark Jr. will continue to affect each one of us. So please understand that our emotions may get the better of us at unexpected times. Our relationship with you goes beyond Client/Stylist. So please know that seeing you brings us comfort. We look forward to servicing all your hair, skin, and nail needs. This correspondence is sent with love and our deepest gratitude.
Amanda
Amanda has been a hairstylist for 12 years. She graduated high school and went straight to cosmetology school in 2006. After graduating in 2008, she then started working at Madison Avenue as an assistant. Amanda continued to work hard and gather information and techniques from everyone around her, eventually working on the floor as a stylist. She excels in communicating with clients to make them feel as comfortable as possible while also understanding their wants and needs. She has an eye for matching hair color, loves highlighting and creating beautiful balayage, and enjoys working with fashion colors. Amanda enjoys watching videos of new techniques and also has attended many different classes and hair shows continuing her education over the years.
Courtney
Courtney is a certified aesthetician who graduated from North Haven Academy Paul Mitchell Partner School in 2004. She joined the Madison Avenue Salon's team in 2007. Courtney specializes in facials, manicures, pedicures, eyebrow and eyelash tinting, waxing and make up artistry. She prides herself in catering to her clients on making them happy. "I want my clients to look forward to their appointment and see them leave with results that make them look and feel their best selves."
Michele
Michele Brotz has been a hairstylist at Madison Avenue for 21 years, and is a Co-owner at our Old Saybrook location. Michele specializes in the most advanced color, cutting, highlightening and balayage techniques and has numerous certifications in IT&LY Hairfashion color Techniques and Keratin treatments. Michele also is certified through Deva Curl concepts for those special clients with curly hair. Michele takes great pride in her artistic talents as well as professionalism here at Madison Avenue Salons.
Bridget
Bridget has been a hairstylist for 13 years, during which she has trained with numerous companies and brands in the industry such as Paul Mitchell, Bumble and Bumble, Aveda, Kevin Murphy and IT&LY Hairfashion. With an attentiveness to communication she ensures you will love your hair at the end of your visit. Bridget has been a member of the Madison Avenue team since 2018 and has a strong focus on dimensional color services.
Robyn
With over 30 years in the hair industry and well over half of those being spent at Madison Avenue Salon, Robyn truly has a love for hair. Robyn has been certifed as an IT&LY Hairfashion Educator and has a passion for color and foil highlighting. Being on stage as a platform artist with Mark, owner of Madison Avenue Salon, brought the color expertise to the next level in the area of Madison.
Robyn has also been educated on 5th Avenue in NYC with Redken and also holds certification with Keratin Complex.

Olivia
Olivia is our Front Desk Coordinator and has been in the salon business for 10 years.
Nicole
Nicoles love for hair started at a very young age. At 18 years old, she graduated hair school and has been working in salons ever since. Recently moving from New York where she developed her talents further she is excited to be showing her skills with you! She enjoys making her clients feel at home and well cared for. She looks forward to meeting and working with you at her new home at Madison Avenue Salon!
Shayna
Shayna who graduated from the European Academy of Cosmetology and Hairdressing. She is up to date with trending looks and techniques and has an open eye for clients and their desires. She looks forward to consulting with you and leaving a smile on your face after your visit at Madison Avenue Salon.
Melissa
You might recognize this friendly face! Melissa worked for Madison Avenue years ago and took a break from salon life to raise her children. Please join us in welcoming her back at our Old Saybrook location on Tuesdays and Fridays! She is excited to invite you to experience her talent in color, haircutting, and especially highlight services.
Maddie
Join us in welcoming our new hairstylist, Maddie! As a recent graduate of Norwich Technical High School, she has had a well-rounded introduction to various color and product brands, and enjoys highlighting and foiling techniques. In addition to hairstyling, she will be providing manicure, pedicure, and facial waxing services. Maddie will be working at our Old Saybrook location, where she is looking forward to meeting our clientele and offering a great salon experience.
